This weekend we went over to Louisiana to hunt in the marsh to kick off our duck season right. Louisiana is home to many bird species and they all seem to love the marsh. Hunting in the marsh can be quite challenging, from alluding alligators to navigating through the grassy maze that is most of the time covered by thick fog. If you weren't born and raised in the bayou it can definitly be a bit intimidating. One of the things that stick out to me about hunting in the marsh is the muddy bottoms that we had to walk through. It can be very thick, nasty and worse than any personal fitness trainer you've ever had. With that being said, if you want to kill ducks you can not let that whip you. The ducks love the habitat that the marsh provides and every time I go, I see more ducks than I could ever imagine seeing. On this hunt we killed green & blue wing teal, pintail, and a bonus wood duck (which is rare for the marsh).
